Our Stunning A La Carte Menu

At this time of year, Yorkshire’s produce can be at its very finest. Winter vegetables accompanied by high welfare Beef, Pork, Lamb, Chicken and Fish brought together by delicious sauces and intensely flavoured jus; what more could we ask for?

Our mighty Featherblade of R&J’s Beef is served with buttered mashed potato, celeriac purée, roasted shallots, bone marrow butter and red wine jus. Our trio of R*&J’s woodland Pork (confit belly Pork stuffed with French black pudding, braised Pork Cheek croquette), is served with honey glazed carrots, crispy crackling, baked apple purée and rich Pork jus. Our slow cooked Lamb Belly comes with parmesan & smoked paprika polenta, buttered cavolo nero; roasted aubergine purée, pickled red onion and and intense Lamb jus.

If you prefer Fish, we have our pan roasted North Sea Cod with a Crab & Prawn soufflé, purple sprouting broccoli, tomato & roasted red pepper purée and a Mussel velouté. Our Sustainable Sea Bream is served with Lobster bisque & rainbow chard risotto, pickled cucumber ribbons and a citrus drizzle.

Simply stunning, and we think quite irresistible!

Our A La Carte Menu is available for lunch and dinner from Monday to Saturday every week, so go on, treat yourself!

 

 

 

 

Christmas at The Tannin Level

Christmas is Coming!

The Children are getting excited, Santa is on his way and the anticipation of Yuletide celebrations is becoming very real.

And on Monday 28th November our Festive Menu arrives.

The Tannin Level is a perfect Festive Restaurant, with the lights turned down low and candles flickering on every table, it simply couldn’t be any more inviting. And with our locally reared Roast Turkey (with all the Festive Trimmings) and all the other Festive treats on the Menu, there really is no better place to indulge in a little Christmas Cheer.

We’re open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner, so you can enjoy your Festive Treat at your leisure!

It’s Autumn at The Tannin Level

We love Autumn at The Tannin Level. As the nights start drawing in, we can really appreciate the warmth of stone, brick, wood and leather. And with the lights turned down a little, and candles flickering away on every table The Tannin Level takes on a rather special ambience.

And of course in anticipation of the colder weather, under the auspices of our Head Chef, Marek, the brigade have been rather busy creating some very special dishes which are simply perfect for this time of year. Our Slow Braised Ox Cheek with Mini Fondant Potato; Tender Stem Broccoli; Caramelised Onion & Fresh Horseradish Purée; Rioja Reduction and Red Wine Jus to begin, followed by our Featherblade of Local Heritage Beef with Buttered Mashed Potato; Celeriac Purée; Roasted Shallots; Bone Marrow Butter and Red Wine Jus. Of course our menus are littered with such culinary delights, so why not take a moment or two to browse through them while you’re here?

The Perfect Treat for Fathers Day!

Show your Dad just how special he is with a fabulous Sunday Lunch at The Tannin Level. We have our Signature Beef Rump, aged to perfection in R&J’s Himalayan Salt Brick Chamber, Locally Reared Roast Pork, Yorkshire Puddings, Roast Potatoes, Cauliflower Cheese, Homemade Gravy and lots of lovely Fresh Veg.

We also have a ‘Just the Veg’ option and lots of other tasty treats if you don’t fancy a Roast.

Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Why not celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in style at The Tannin Level?

Our menu’s are packed full of the finest local, seasonal British produce, perfect for a very British celebration.

And we have some special dishes designed to reflect the glorious years of Her Majesty’s reign.

We’re open from 12 noon until 2:00pm for lunch and 5:00pm until 9:00pm for dinner (9:30pm on Saturday).

And of course we have our legendary Sunday Lunch from 12 noon until 4:00pm on Sunday.

We feel so proud, flattered and humbled in equal measure to be nominated for the 2022 Harrogate Restaurant of the Year Award, and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who nominated us.

The whole team have worked incredibly hard to make The Tannin Level what it is today, and this nomination really does give all of them the recognition they so richly deserve. Of course Harrogate is fortunate enough to have many notable restaurants, all of which are staffed and run by incredibly hard working and talented individuals, and to all of them we say thank you for helping to make the Harrogate restaurant scene so exciting and vibrant.

Valentines Day; “A Taste of The Tannin Level”

It will be Valentines day before we know it, and after missing out last year, we’re doing something pretty special in 2022.

We are offering you “A Taste of The Tannin Level’ – a 7 course Tasting Menu, based upon some of our most popular dishes from the last couple of years.

This rather special menu is available in addition to our A La Carte Menu, so the choice is yours.

We have also paired some fabulous wines with the dishes on the Tasting Menu and we are serving these by the glass, so you can choose as many of these option as you wish, or if you just prefer to choose your own or order a bottle then of course that’s fine too!

Valentine Menu

Our Fabulous A La Carte Menu…

We have been busy updating our Fabulous A La Carte Menu with some truly scrumptious new dishes to reflect the changing of the seasons.

Our mighty new Featherblade of Beef, braised for 6 hours in a rich Red Wine Jus simply melts in the mouth, and supplemented with our Buttery Mash and a Fricassee of Peas, Pearl Onions & Hispi Cabbage, this dish perfectly balances rich Yorkshire flavours with spring freshness.

To start we have our King Scallops, presented with Heart of Palm Pureé, Heart of Palm Bonbons, Crispy Pancetta Stick and Wild Garlic Oil; this really is spring stunner!

Of course we still have our Signature Trio of Pork; slow roasted Pork Belly with a crispy skin, 6 hour braised Pig Cheek, mini French Black Pudding Pasty, Buttery Mash, Honey Glazed Carrots, Burnt Apple Puree and our Rich Red Wine and Pork Jus.

And for our Vegan guests, we have created our Heritage Beetroot Carpaccio marinated in Agave, Sesame Oil & Sherry Vinegar with Sesame Seeds, Roasted Pistachios & Pomegranate Seeds, followed by our Vegetable Bonbons, with a ‘Ratatouille’ of Aubergine, Courgette, Peppers & Tomato, Balsamic Piccolo Peppers, Crispy Spiced Chick Peas and Salsa Verde Oil. Whilst for dessert we have our delicious new Chocolate Mousse, made with Aquafaba. You really don’t have to be Vegan to enjoy these treats!

Christmas Party Menu!

It’s that time again, and after missing out last year, we’re getting booked up for Christmas Parties more quickly than ever. Of course we have our locally reared Roast Turkey with Roast Potatoes, Pigs in Blankets and all the Festive Trimmings, but we also have lots of other delicious dishes for those who just don’t fancy Turkey.

It’s Great to be Back!

What a Week… we have loved seeing so many of our good friends and regulars again, and of course meeting many new ones. And after being closed for nearly 5 months, we were concerned about being ‘match fit’, but then as soon as our guests started coming through the doors it all fell back into place. So at the end of an incredible and emotional week, we would all like to say thank you to everyone for making this week so special!

Of course, we have used our lockdown time to create lots of amazing new dishes for our A La Carte Menu, and we have also created our brand new Midweek Menu, and given our Lunch Menu a major overhaul, so while you’re here, check them out, then maybe even book yourself a table!
