It’s our 40th Birthday!
It’s so hard to believe that The Tannin level has now been serving the wonderful people of Harrogate since September 1985; that’s 40 years!
Of course over the last 40 years we have seen many changes in our culinary landscape, and what better way to celebrate our journey through 4 decades than to showcase some of the iconic dishes we have served along the way?
So, for the month of September (we opened our doors on the 9th September 1985), we have re-created some of our favourite and most popular dishes from the last 40 years.
We’ve had such fun putting these dishes together, and we really hope you enjoy the journey with us as we travel through 40 years of The Tannin Level’s culinary history.
And finally, we want to say a huge “thank you” to all our loyal and ever supportive guests; a great many of whom we now consider to be good friends. It is your support and patronage which has fuelled this journey, and we very much hope to enjoy your company in the years to come as our journey continues.

Chef Tobias and his brigade have loved creating this fabulous collection of dishes showcasing the very finest, local, seasonal produce our great county has to offer, and were sure you’ll love them too!
Whether you fancy local, native breed beef, aged to perfection in a Himalayan salt brick chamber, rare breed Yorkshire woodland pork, Yorkshire hillside lamb rump, local free range chicken or fish from the North Yorkshire coast, we have it covered.
So whatever your occasion, from a simple lunch with friends to a Celebration night out, we have something for everyone and every occasion!

Our Delicious Midweek Menu!
Our scrumptious Midweek Menu features some fantastic dishes using only the very best ingredients available (just like our A La Carte Menu), all of which are carefully designed to satisfy that mid-week itch; the one where you know you want to go out, but just fancy something simple like a really great Burger and a Beer, Free Range Chicken Breast, or our amazing Herb Crusted North Sea Haddock ‘Fish Pie’. Nothing too fancy (that can wait for Saturday), but something that tastes amazing, is really satisfying and won’t break the bank!
Take our new Burger for example; a half pound Signature Burger, seasoned to perfection, with our vintage matured Cheddar, locally cured Smoked Bacon, crisp Lettuce and juicy fresh Tomato’s, all put together in a locally made artisan Bread Bun. It’s The Tannin Level’s obsession for detail and quality applied to a menu full of wonderfully crafted mid week treats.
So after a hard day at work, why not pop in your way home, kick back, relax and forget about the washing up! Our Midweek Menu is available from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Monday to Friday, and if you do fancy something from the A La Carte Menu, then that’s just fine too, it’s available for lunch and dinner every day.

The Tannin Level Sunday Lunch…
You can have Sunday Lunch, or you can have a Tannin Level Sunday Lunch! We have our Signature Roasts; Rare Breed Yorkshire Woodland Pork with Crispy Crackling, and our legendary Beef Rump, sourced from local Heritage Breeds and aged to perfection in R&J’s Himalayan Salt Brick Chamber. Probably the best Roast Beef we’ve ever tasted (and we’ve tasted a lot of beef!)
And, we offer a ‘Half and Half’ option, if (like us) you cant decide which Roast you would prefer.
Of course no Sunday Roast would be complete without our Yorkshire Puddings and delicious Roast Potatoes. Plenty of Fresh Seasonal Vegetables on the side, our decadent Cauliflower Cheese and a jug of our Homemade Gravy. Simply perfect!
We also have an ‘All the Veg’ option with vegetarian Gravy, and of course we have plenty of other delicious dishes on the menu if you just don’t fancy a Sunday Roast. What’s not to like?
